Fellowship of Orthodox Christians United to Serve

GATEWAY CITY

About Us

We are the local Fellowship of Orthodox Christian's United to Serve (FOCUS) Community in St. Louis, MO

FOCUS Gateway City is on the near south side of downtown St. Louis. We are proud to face the needs of our neighbors by distributing food, clothing, and warm meals on Sundays and Wednesdays throughout the month.

We seek to provide Orthodox Christians with opportunities to shine forth the love of Christ through volunteering at the Center, in McKinley Heights and in surrounding neighborhoods.

Our goal is to be a community where any person in need can find rest for their souls and resources to help meet their needs.

Apostles Community Kitchen

The Apostle’s Community Kitchen serves warm meals to those in need on Sundays from 4:30-5:30 PM on the 2nd through 21st of each month. During these meals, guests may also use the food pantry, which serves shelf-stable foods such as pasta and sauce, canned vegetables, fruits, beans, meat, fish, soups, cereal, and other breakfast foods. Fresh and frozen food will be served as it is donated. The Kitchen also provides hygiene items: toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, razors, and feminine products.

On the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, the Kitchen opens its doors to serve warm breakfasts to guests. The pantry is open during these breakfasts, as it is during Sunday Suppers. Breakfast is open from 9 to 11 AM.

St. Xenia's Closet

St. Xenia’s Closet provides clothes, shoes, and towels to those in need on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 9 to 11 AM.

St. Elijah’s Bus Tickets

St. Elijah’s Bus Tickets provides two bus tickets for the St. Louis Metro bus system to those needing transportation help. At this time, bus tickets will be provided to guests who need help getting food, clothing, shelter, school, work, church, doctor’s appointments, or meeting with a case worker. These bus tickets can be received on Sundays between the 2nd and the 21st of each month from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm and on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

St. Elias Haircuts

St. Elias Haircuts provides haircuts and beard trims to guests during Sunday Suppers free of charge. At this time, haircuts are only given twice a month. To check if any particular Sunday is a service date, please contact the Center.
